Understanding Microbial Risk – June 23rd GCSA Workshop [In-person, 4 DEQ CECs]
We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, from 9 AM to 3 PM to talk about microbial risk as it pertains to water treatment, wastewater treatment, and stormwater management. We will discuss what these microbes are, where they come from, decay rates, what are the modes of infection, what are the symptoms of infection, and how we can minimize the risk. We have an obligation to protect ourselves as we serve our communities by providing these vital services. In closing, we will discuss the Public Works workforce outlook and finish with a regulatory update. We look forward to seeing each of you at the next GCSA meeting.
Note: This workshop has been registered with DEQ to meet the renewal classroom training requirements for holders of Oklahoma Water Operators, Wastewater Operators, and Laboratory personnel licenses. Therefore, invite your coworkers from your water plants, wastewater plants, and laboratories so they can meet this requirement at no additional cost.
